Anna Pawlak

BIRTHDAY: Anna Pawlak: Anna Pawlak celebrated her 102nd birthday April 12, having been born the day the Titanic set sail.
She had an impromptu party at Live Oak Adult Day Services in Gilroy, after returning from spending a few months in Arizona with her daughter, Marge.
When asked if she saw any coyotes or rattlesnakes while there, she said, “They’d better watch out for ME!”

Cassandra Beltran
Army Pvt. Cassandra L. Beltran has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Beltran is the daughter of Tammy Beltran of Morgan Hill and a 2006 graduate of Gilroy High School.
Thomas Brown
Thomas Brown was recognized by the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford at its Honors Convocation April 12.
Brown, a broadcast communications major from San Martin, received the James D. Guelfi Award in Broadcast Communications.
