Amanda Bellew and Robert Samdahl were married June 24, 2011.
Amanda, daughter of Michael and Maureen Bellew of Gilroy, is a graduate of Aptos High School and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She received a teaching credential and master’s degree from UC Santa Cruz. She is a teacher at El Roble School in Gilroy.
Robert, son of Roger and Bette Samdahl of San Jose, is a graduate of Silver Creek High School and Cal State San Bernardino. He received a teaching credential and master’s degree from National University. He is an elementary P.E. teacher in Gilroy.
The ceremony was held at Beach Resort Monterey in Monterey
and was attended by family and friends. The couple honeymooned in
Canada. They live in Gilroy with two cats.

Amando Christopher Acosta
Amando Christopher Acosta graduated from bootcamp at Ft. Jackson, S.C. and has been promoted to PFC in the United States Army. He is now serving at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz.
Amando, a 2010 graduate of San Benito High School, is the son of Carolyn Acosta of Hollister.
Nicholas Blanchard
Nicholas Blanchard graduated from the third-year residency program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo. on July 1. He has signed on to stay at the hospital for the next three years. Nicholas is the son of Debbie and Gerry Blanchard of San Martin.

Harper Rae Faith Corona was born June 10, 2011 at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose to Matt and Melanie Corona of Gilroy. She weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces.

Christina, daughter of Art Barron and Delia Rios of San Jose, is a 1998 graduate of Phoenix High School in San Jose.
George, son of Margaret Corella of Gilroy and the late George Palacios, Sr. is a 1997 graduate of Gilroy High School.
The couple, who met in 1998, was engaged July 1 and plan to marry in the spring of 2012.

Rosie Lopez and Jeremiah Duenas are engaged to be married.
Rosie, daughter of Ernie and Rosie Lopez, is a is a 1997 graduate of Gilroy High School.
Jeremiah, son of Ephraim and Rosemary Duenas of Gilroy, is a 2001 graduate of Gilroy High School.
The couple, who met in 2007, was engaged June 30 and plan to marry in the summer of 2012. They reside in Gilroy.

Weidenbenners celebrate 60 years
John and Esther Weidenbenner of Ireland, Ind., recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
John Weidenbenner and Esther Tretter were married July 21, 1951, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand, Ind. The late father Edwin Miller officiated. Their attendants were Irene Balbach, Virginia Mehringer, Alice Gilson, Morris Weidenbenner and Bernie Weidenbenner.
The Weidenbenners are the parents of five children: Jane Howard of Gilroy; Debbie Schwenk and Denny Weidenbenner of Ireland, Ind.; Karen Streicher of Washington, Ind.; and Donna Schroering of Evansville, Ind. They have 11 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 13 step-grandchildren.
