GILROY – Before the Lady Mustangs began their playoff push with Wednesday’s upset of Oak Grove, the Tri-County Athletic League announced its All-League selections for the 2003 season – granting seven awards to the garlic unit.

Senior right-hander Jennifer Olvera, who is off next fall to play softball at Vanguard University, received first-team honors – while senior third baseman Cherise Martinez and senior first baseman Jenna Daugherty were selected to the T-CAL’s second team.

Three Lady Mustangs also were deemed honorable mentions – including junior catcher Bria DeLorenzo, senior second baseman Dallas Hernandez (who will play at UC-San Diego next fall), and sophomore shortstop Kayla Aldridge.

In addition, senior centerfielder Laura Hennessee was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Gilroy finished in fourth place in the T-CAL with a league mark of 6-9 and, following Wednesday’s win, has upped its overall record to 15-14.
