Don’s Vending jumped to 4-2 with a 16-3 decision over Dutchman’s Pizza in the opener. Williams Dental Lab followed with a 6-2 upset of Handmade Healthcare, leaving both at 4-2.
Handmade will play Don’s Vending at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 11 at Las Animas Park, with the winner to meet Williams Dental Lab at 8:50 for the second-half crown. Williams claimed the first-half pennant.
Don’s Vending struck for eight runs in the second inning and a 9-0 cushion over Dutchman’s, the first-half Women’s C League champion. Cory Casillas mashed a three-run triple for the Vendors. Jolene Carrasco hit a two-run home run in the Don’s third, Casillas a solo blast in the fifth.
Celeste Soto went 3-for-3 for Don’s Vending. Helen Ortega went 3-for-3, Mercy Sermeno 2-for-3 for Dutchman’s Pizza.
Dutchman’s will open the best 2-of-3 Championship Series against Goldsmith Seeds at 7:40 p.m. on Monday Aug. 16 at Las Animas.
Four consecutive singles to open the second inning produced three runs for Williams Dental Lab. Annette Romero, 4-for-4 for the winners, singled home Maureen Hughes in the third. Margene Peterson plated Romero in the fifth. Romero completed the scoring with a home run in the seventh.
Nina Mongiello and Jessica Loza each went 3-for-4 for Handmade Healthcare.
Goldsmith Seeds stumbled in the regular season finale Wednesday, falling to Eugene Marks Tractor Service 11-7 at Las Animas in C play.
Marks Tractor erased a 7-4 deficit with a six-run strike in the fifth inning against the Seeds. Ana Cid-Chrisman delivered a two-run double for the Tractor.
Pauline Lemberger went 4-for-4, Lisa Lowe 3-for-3 and Cathy Marks 3-for-4 for Marks Tractor. Yolanda Lomas, Norma Wendt and Sally Hernandez each drilled two hits for Goldsmith.
Nicole Lara went 3-for-3 and Monica Perez scored three runs to lead the Energizers past the Hpnotiqs 16-0. Monique Martinez singled and tripled for the Hpnotiqs.
Franny Lopez stroked a grand slam and Jessica Gomez went 3-for-3 to highlight a 20-6 Let’s Do This win over Kay’s Kids Daycare. Vanessa Pena homered and Stephanie Regalado went 3-for-3 for Kay’s Kids.
Missy Hice hit three home runs and two singles in a 31-6 M&M’s victory over Chaos. Laura Hagiperos added two homers for the Morgan Hill Moms. Kelly Kramer went 2-for-3 and Lucy Solorzano drove in two runs for Chaos.
