Cities Association’s Third Annual International Dinner and
Auction.
Gilroyans will have the opportunity to sample international cuisine and bid on local prizes this weekend at the Gilroy Sister Cities Association’s Third Annual International Dinner and Auction.

Gilroy claims sister cities around the globe, including Takko-Machi, Japan, Angra do Heroismo, Portugal, Saint-Clar, France, Tecate, Mexico, Monticelli d’Ongina, Italy and Koror, Republic of Palau. “The goal of the program is to foster deeper cross cultural understanding and global cooperation towards sustainable economic and community development,” according to the City of Gilroy’s Web site.

The dinner will feature dishes from the homelands of Gilroy’s sister cities. The dinner will be followed by an auction featuring local vintners, gift certificates to local businesses and eateries and local treasures like a handmade quilt and wooden train.

Tickets sell for $35 and can be picked up at Al Pinheiro Insurance, 190 First St. The dinner and auction will be held Saturday, March 29 beginning at 6 p.m. with a social hour at the I.F.D.E.S. Portuguese Lodge, 250 Old Gilroy St.
