Mountains, broke out behind Platinum Theatres in south Gilroy this
afternoon.
A small fire, unrelated to the Summit Fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains, broke out behind Platinum Theatres in south Gilroy this afternoon.
The fire – the origin of which firefighters did not know at posting time – was quickly extinguished by firefighters. Residents of streets jutting off nearby Church Street helped keep the fire from spreading by leaning over fences and drenching it with water from garden hoses.
No one was injured, no property was damaged and no one was evacuated.
