The Brownell Middle School boys soccer team kicked off the regular season against a familiar opponent, the South Valley Tigers.

Goalies Francisco Hernandez and Joseth Verdiquel combined for a shut out as the Bruins prevailed 3-0 in the season opener.

The Bruins defensive third of Antony Ambriz, David Solorsano and Manuel Gonazalez contributed to the blanking.

Andres Jimenez set up the Bruins first goal of the afternoon scored by Alan Hermisillo. Jacob Liberatore connected with Alex Flores for the second tally and Jiminez posted one of his own, making his way through traffic to deposit the final goal.
