The Gavilan men’s soccer team takes a three-game win streak into today’s home finale against Skyline, looking to keep itself in the postseason hunt.

With three tilts to go, including today, the Rams (5-3-3 Coast Conference) are on the doorstep of playoff eligibility, sitting at No. 15 of 34 teams in Northern California. The top 14 earn spots, with division winners admittance automatically and the rest of the slots filled according to power point rankings.

“It’s constantly changing,” Gavilan head coach Justin Johnson said of the playoff scenario. “We are really looking no further than our next game. But we have to win. It’s a must win situation here on out. The guys know it and they are ready.”

That next game is later today at 4 p.m. at Gavilan College. The Rams will finish with two road games against Foothill and West Valley next week.

“We have a good schedule ahead of us, but its dangerous to look too far ahead,” Johnson said.
