Coming off of what manager Nikki Dequin classified as an “ugly” loss to Chabot last Thursday, the Gavilan College softball team looked more themselves in a 9-3 triumph against City College of San Francisco on Tuesday in Gilroy.

Starting pitching Nicole Lobato went the distance for the win in the circle, striking out eight while surrendering five hits and one walk. Lobato helped her cause in a big way at the plate with a 3 for 4 performance with three RBI.

Angelica Galindo had a pair of hits and an RBI, Shayna Osuna scored three times and Danielle Clampett contributed a RBI-triple and scored twice for the Rams who are an even 17-17 overall and 5-5 in Coast Conference play.

Gavilan returns to the diamond across from Ohlone College at home Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
