Collecting 12 hits in a 10-run-rule shortened contest, the Gilroy Chaos U10 travel softball team stomped the Salinas Storm 17-1 in the finals of the Nor Cal ASA Championships on Saturday in Sunnyvale.

The Chaos scored five runs in the first inning and held that tempo throughout the game.

The Storm posted its lone run in the first inning.

“We all worked together and we all hit well,” Amanda Bombino said.

Head coach James Jimenez said that having three left-handed slappers and an excellent small-ball game is what sets his team apart at this youth level of competition.
