the Gilroy High softball team eased past Mt. Pleasant 4-1 on
Tuesday in Gilroy.

Rodriguez kick started the contest in the first inning, reaching on a base hit then rounding the horn with two stolen bases and eventually scoring on a passed ball.

Celeste Mendoza and Rodriguez delivered RBI hits in the second inning as the Mustangs climbed to a 3-0 lead.

Dani Hemeon added an RBI triple, ripping a bomb off the top of the centerfield fence.

Lira, meanwhile, fanned nine batters in her seven innings of work.

The Mustangs (2-1) travel to San Jose to face Mitty on Thursday.
