Dear Editor,

It is great that we have “Honor of a School Name” debate going hot and heavy.

When I mentioned Marine Corps Alvin Painter I did it to remind the reader that the only time we honor the fallen heros is on Memorial Day.

Soldiers who have served and have fallen in battle in defense of America, should be memorialized in our schools so that our children will remember that the price of war is much greater than the price of dipolmacy.

The Wentworth name is well recognized thoughout our area and I would be favor of naming a school after him. Only please, no politicans.

I hope that many more people join in this effort to honor our fallen heros by demanding that we dedicate, not only one, but many schools in memory of their service to our country.

Edward P. Sanchez, Gilroy
