Dear Editor,

Terry Feinberg’s letter reveals the inherent problem with “affordable,” or subsidized housing: someone has to pay for it!

Current residents should NOT share the costs of ANY growth, especially said socialist program! I see no reason why I should pay for the water mains, the sewer lines or the road construction required for someone else’s new house. Nor do I see an reason why ANY resident should pick up the tab for “affordable housing” when most of us are already slaves to our own mortgages.

For those of us who already live here, adding all these new homes provides nothing but nuisance, especially in the form of increased traffic. Doubt it? Look at Welburn Avenue east of Wren Avenue on any weekday afternoon.

And as far as public buildings, we didn’t need a new police station, and the sports park should be funded by those who use it.
