Happy November! You bicycling aficionados know that the Life Time Sea Otter Classic returns to Monterey next April 18-21; but, did you realize that registration is already open? Sign up today, because the early bird pricing deadline is the end of this month.

If you can’t wait until April, remember that you have two more opportunities this year (Nov. 8 and Dec. 6) to pedal WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca’s 11-turn, 2.238-mile course. Rarely do non-pro cyclists (like you and me) get the opportunity to enjoy such thrills! These Twilight Cycling rides take place from 5-7pm, and are open to cyclists of all ages and expertise. Helmets are required and there is a $10 entry fee for each rider. In case you were wondering, Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are welcome.

November also means that, for all intents and purposes, the charity event ride calendar has ended for another year. But don’t tell that to the fine folks at Delta Velo, hosts of the Giro D’Vino, which falls on Sunday, Nov. 5 this year. This fall favorite features everything a fine bicycle event should: valet bike parking, tech support by Lodi Cycling, fully-stocked rest stops, a lunch stop featuring Bahn-Mi sandwiches, a commemorative Giro D’Vino wine glass, post-ride woodfired pizza and salad, and (I kid you not) free wine tasting at all winery stops! Wine purchases are shuttled to the start/finish location at Lodi’s Michael David Winery.

Until next month, a very happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I’m always very thankful that you take the time to read my monthly columns. Be blessed!
