Vintage motorcyle classic headlines weekend Swap meet in Hollister
HOLLISTER – Santa Clara Riders Unlimited will host the 13th Annual Mike Lightfoot Vintage National Motorcycle Classic, honoring #77 Jim Odom, and three-day Swap meet from Oct. 17 to Oct. 19.
The Swap meet is $30 for all three days.
On Friday, Jim Pomeroy’s MX School will start at 11 a.m. with sign-up at 10 a.m. On Saturday, there will be Vintage National Trials, Post Vintage National races, sidecar races, bike show and Swap meet.
On Sunday, the Vintage National MX and Swap meet. There will be a riders meeting at 8 a.m. Practice is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and racing begins at 10 a.m.. There is a $35 pre-entry or $70 post.
The gate fee is $10 per person ($5 on Friday) and children under 12 are free.
Adult recreational basketball program extends deadline to Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.
GILROY – The Gilroy Community Services Department’s adult basketball program has extended the deadline to enroll teams until 5 p.m. on Monday Oct. 20.
Men’s and women’s teams may enroll in the 12-game schedule. Play begins Oct. 27 at Solorsano Gymnasium. Further information is available at 846-0460.
