The St. Francis field hockey team was undefeated heading into Thursday's match, but the Mustangs changed all that. 

GILROY—Christopher didn’t let the howling, punishing wind and the overcast skies rain on its parade.

Katrina Carter earned a foul in the final minutes of Gilroy's game with Presentation and that was exactly the situation her team wanted. 

GILROY—Thursday’s crosstown showdown was a match of firsts and lasts.

Before Saturday's game with Evergreen, the Christopher girls water polo team asked coach Jim Shuster if its opponent was any good. "Maybe," he replied, "But you are very good."

GILROY—One down, five to go.

After being beaten in sudden death overtime by Monterey last month, the Cougars returned the favor.

GILROY—Every October, football players around the country add some pink to their uniform to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Companies such as Nike and Under Armour design pink socks, gloves, towels and mouthguards—among other things—and donate part of the proceeds to breast cancer research foundations.
