GILROY — Christopher needed to win its regular season finale to secure its place in the playoffs. Gilroy wasn’t about to roll over and let that happen.

Christopher started and stayed strong to pick up the win in its final home game of the season.

Christopher’s season essentially came to an end Tuesday, falling 51-24 at Salinas.

GILROY — The scoreboard may not have reflected it, but the Christopher girls basketball team walked away winners on Thursday evening.

The Gilroy girls basketball team took sole possession of the Monterey Bay Pacific League Monday.

Gilroy further secured its place in the postseason, topping Pajaro Valley 1-0 at home Thursday. 

GILROY — Hollywood couldn’t have scripted it better.

Alisal was looking to go 10-0 for the first time since 2005. Gilroy, with its own agenda, put an end to that.

Chris Chang had the crowd at Gilroy High saying "Dang" on Friday night.

GILROY — For three quarters, Christopher put itself in a position to pull off the upset over San Benito. With stands packed and the home crowd behind them, the Cougars pulled within one point heading into the final frame and the momentum seemed to be in their favor — but the Haybalers quickly put an end to that.
