CARMEL—Though Gilroy High golfer Magnus Myhr started off on a hot streak, he finished a few strokes shy of extending his season.

Seedings for the 2015 Central Coast Section Boys Volleyball playoffs have been released.

GILROY—Christopher exploded right out of the gate, scoring six runs in the first inning of its 8-3 victory over crosstown rivals Gilroy Friday at Gavilan College.

GILROY—The Christopher girls’ shot at a third straight Monterey Bay League title hinged on the last race of the day.

Gilroy's breakout golfer Magnus Myhr has survived the first round of the Central Coast Section Tournament. 

GILROY—Suzy Brookshire hit a three-run home run in the second inning off Gilroy ace Lauren Castro to lead San Benito to a 6-4 win over the Mustangs at Gilroy High.

GILROY—Gymnasts Gabby Milano, Alexis Felix, Tiffany Roberts and Sloane Pace are a family—plain and simple. They train together and give each other tips. On the day of competition, they lend each other hair spray and makeup. It’s not until they look down at their uniforms that they remember they come from different high schools.

The Cougar lacrosse team won its third straight game, beating Pacific Collegiate 11-9 Friday at home. 

SALINAS—North Monterey County was the only team standing between Gilroy and a league title—and the Condors were no matches for the Mustangs.
