Gilroy Mustangs

The Gilroy and Christopher gymnastics team stole the spotlight at league finals.
The Cougars and Mustangs had standout performances at the Santa Clara Athletic League finals Thursday at Los Altos High School and qualified a combined five athletes for the Central Coast Section.
Christopher sophomore Kaelee Scott led the way, earning an all-around qualifying score of 36.6. She gave a stellar performance on the uneven bars, earning a score of 9.0, which was good for a 10th place tie.
Freshman standout Sloane Pace, of Gilroy, tied for fifth on the vault and scored a 9.15. She was also 10th in both the balance beam (9.3) and floor exercise (9.45) to earn a CCS qualifying score of 35.9. 
Veteran Tiffany Roberts earned a CCS qualifying score of 35.95 for the Cougars in her senior season. Teammate Maggie Trejo, also a senior, punched her ticket on the vault with an 8.7 score.
Christopher freshman Stacey Gaddis will also make the trip to CCS after earning an all-around qualifying score of 34.7.
The CCS Championships will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Gymtowne in South San Francisco.
