Prep Football: Mustangs’ mission underway in spring practice
GILROY—“We’re on a mission this year,” Gilroy coach Brian Boyd said while looking out at the field full of players practicing during spring football session. “We’ve headed in the right direction, we’re going up and that’s the plan. We just want to get to the playoffs. We don’t care what our record is, we just want to get to the playoffs.”

Prep Volleyball: Cougars’ Salcedo earns three postseason honors
Emmanuel Salcedo was instramental for the Christopher boys volleyball team this season, leading it to back-to-back playoff berths. The senior outside hitter, who coach Karrie Gonzalez called her “MVP” after the team's last game, was recognized with three Monterey Bay All-League honors Tuesday.
Prep Track and Field: 11 local athletes, two relay teams headed to CCS Semis
GILROY—Get as many individuals to qualify for the Central Coast Section Tournament—that was Christopher’s goal heading into the Monterey Bay League Master’s Meet. With eight individuals and two relay teams qualifying for 15 events, the Cougars consider that a goal achieved.
