GILROY — Though Tuesday was Gilroy coach Brian Boyd’s birthday, the cake and balloons in the school’s library weren’t for him. He did, however, receive one very special present in the form of his son Brandon signing with Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. on an academic scholarship where he will play football next season.

GILROY — For the first time in school history Christopher walked away the winner of the crosstown clash with Gilroy.

GILROY — Friday’s crosstown clash between Christopher and Gilroy looked as if it was going to get ugly real fast.

It was a busy weekend for the Christopher and Gilroy track and field teams. 

A big fifth inning lifted the Christopher baseball team passed Scotts Valley Wednesday.

Ally Foster further secured her identity as one of the premier track and field athletes in the state with a first place finish at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational Saturday in Los Angeles.

On paper, Friday’s Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division game between the San Benito and Gilroy baseball teams looked like a mismatch.
