Gilroy High School has joined the fight against and its calling on Mustangs fans to get involved, too. 

GILROY—Thursday’s crosstown showdown was a match of firsts and lasts.

Before Saturday's game with Evergreen, the Christopher girls water polo team asked coach Jim Shuster if its opponent was any good. "Maybe," he replied, "But you are very good."

GILROY—Gilroy capitalized on a pair of first half turnovers and cruised to a 27-0 win over visiting Alisal Friday night.

GILROY—One down, five to go.

After being beaten in sudden death overtime by Monterey last month, the Cougars returned the favor.

GILROY—Every October, football players around the country add some pink to their uniform to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Companies such as Nike and Under Armour design pink socks, gloves, towels and mouthguards—among other things—and donate part of the proceeds to breast cancer research foundations.

Seven Gilroy-area runners finished in the Top 10 at the Monterey Bay League Center Meet II Wednesday at Toro Park.
