The Christopher girls tennis team was at full strength and it showed. The Cougars defeated Parajo Valley 6-1 Tuesday at home. The No.1, 2 and 4 singles players all left victorious as did both doubles team. No. 1 Emily Barham won easily 6-0, 6-2 as did No. 2 Adena Chen who won 6-2. No. 4 singles player Jade Bardrick had a bit of a tougher time with her set going to three matches, but emerged the winner 4-6, 6-4, 1006. The No. 1 doubles team of Tiffany Roberts and Kaitlyn Lombardo won their match 7-5, 6-1. Renata Vasconcelos and Kelly Nantais, the No. 2 team, downed their opponents 6-3, 6-2. Christopher will play at Gilroy High at 4 p.m. Thursday. Notre Dame shuts down Gilroy The Gilroy tennis team fell 2-5 to Notre Dame Tuesday at home. No. 1 Amiti Munshi won her match in three sets for Gilroy as did the No. 1 doubles team of Caitlin Filice-Hollar and Nicole Holder who won 2-0 against their opponent. The Mustangs will be back in action at 4 p.m. Thursday to host Christopher. FIELD HOCKEY Christopher edges Monterey The Christopher field hockey team went to battle at Monterey Tuesday and came out on top. The Cougars picked up a narrow 1-0 victory to improve to 7-1 in league play (8-3 overall). The lone goal was scored by Sherelle Butler off a shot from Melanie Tanaka as time expired in the first half. Christopher will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. Friday at York. BOYS WATER POLO
