Maddie Peterson is everywhere on the pitch for the Christopher High field hockey team. It has been that way for four years. Peterson, even as a freshman and sophomore, had the attention of opposing players, which didn't matter, really, because most rarely could stand their ground when they went shoulder to shoulder with Peterson on a up-field rush.

Two foursome spots are still available for Christopher High School’s third annual Cougar 10-hole Classic at Gilroy Golf Course on May 25. Cost per person is $75, and there are also a few solo spots still open. Money goes toward costs to cover referees and umpires. The rain didn’t keep the Christopher High golf team from teeing up against Watsonville, and amid the wet conditions and with umbrellas in tow, the Cougars – led by medalist Peter Hilkene – bested the Wildcatz 215-237 on Tuesday.
