Volunteer Coaches Needed for YMCA Soccer

The Mt. Madonna YMCA is looking for volunteers are interested in coaching area youth in a growing, non-competitive soccer program. Coaches are expected to hold one practice per week — Monday through Friday, between 5-6 p.m. or 6-7 p.m. — and work with one age group of their choice, 5-6, 7-8 or 9-13 year olds, coach on game days — Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Galvan Park in Morgan Hill.

TUESDAY ROUNDUP: CHS softball, baseball keep pace at top of league

Christopher High softball defeated Pajaro Valley 11-0 in five innings Tuesday in Gilroy. Angelica Carrillo and Kayla Medrano each had two hits and three RBIs, Olivia Barajas drove in two runs, Arianna Vasquez produced a pair of hits and five other Cougars had a hit in the win.

The Gavilan baseball team was able to get on the board in the top of the ninth, but unfortunately it was too little, too late.

Gavilan dropped its fourth straight game, falling 4-0 to the unbeaten Hartnell Tuesday at home.
