Prep Golf: Gilroy edges Cougars in crosstown match
GILROY—If it weren’t for their uniforms, it would be hard to tell the players from Gilroy and Christopher High schools apart. The Cougars and Mustangs interacted like teammates during their Thursday match at Gavilan College. To them, it was just like playing a round with friends.
Prep Volleyball: Balers sweep Cougars
GILROY—Christopher’s slow start led to a quick sweep as it fell 10-25, 15-25, 17-25 to San Benito Thursday at home.

Gavilan’s Angel Velasquez notched 13 saves against City College of San Francisco Friday, but unfortunately for the Rams, it wasn’t enough. Gavilan was shut out for the second straight game, this time falling 2-0.
Prep Football: Gilroy, Christopher fall in Week 6
SALINAS—Things didn't go as planned for Gilroy or Christopher Friday as both teams left Salinas with a loss. The Mustangs fell 21-7 to Alisal, while the Cowboys sent the Cougars home with a 41-7 loss.

SALINAS—Gilroy’s Monica Ruelas continues to solidify her reputation as one the Monterey Bay League’s top female runners. The junior Mustang took home her second straight first place finish at Wednesday’s MBL-Pacific Center Meet No. 2 at Toro Park.

The Gavilan and Ohlone volleyball teams went back and forth in Set 1 of Wednesday's match-up. But after the Rams recorded the first victory, 25-22, it was smooth sailing for Gavilan, which won in straight sets in Fremont.Â
