GILROY—Foothill snapped Gavilan’s undefeated conference win streak, handing the Rams a 3-1 loss Wednesday in Gilroy.

GILROY—As the sun was setting Tuesday evening, the No. 3 doubles teams from Christopher and San Benito were still battling it out. All the other matches had ended with each team winning three apiece. The fate of the contest rested squarely on the shoulders of Cougars Allison Ramirez and Camryn Crowley—and they rose to the challenge.

South Valley teams squared off in the 2015 Dig Pink volleyball tournament Oct. 17 at Gavilan College. 

Christopher beat Gilroy 37-14 in the 6th annual Severance Bowl Oct. 16 at Christopher High School. 

GILROY—The Christopher tennis team’s newer players got a chance to show off their skills Thursday against Pajaro Valley, and they rose to the occasion.

GILROY—The red-hot Rams notched their sixth straight win with a dominant 3-0 win over San Jose City College Saturday at the Dig Pink Tournament Saturday at Gavilan College.

MORGAN HILL—Fry’s Electronics has ended its title sponsorship with the PGA Tour, thus ending speculation of the Frys.com Open returning to Morgan Hill.

GILROY—Three Gavilan College running backs erupted for more than 100 yards apiece Saturday night to key a convincing 44-21 Gold Coast League victory over Cabrillo at Christopher High School.

GILROY—The Cougars have been dealt several inconsistencies this season. The loss of their head coach, injuries to standout players and the struggles of playing in the Gabilan Division have thrown a wrench in their year, but at least one thing has stayed the same. The Severance Bell is still theirs.

MORGAN HILL—People poured into downtown Morgan Hill last weekend for the Brew Crawl and stuck around for a party to celebrate the 2016 US Women’s Open coming to CordeValle next summer.
