Magique Bazaar’s ‘Ullambana.’
Friday, Oct. 15, 8pm-10pm
The Magique Bazaar will present its latest collaboration, “Ullambana” – Sanskrit for family gatherings and feelings of joy – in Morgan Hill. The performance fuses music and magic and includes dancing and acrobatics. The audience will hear tablas, electronica, sitar and songs in a variety of languages in the music by recording artists Fontain’s M.U.S.E.
Majinga the Magician will present new and classic illusions encompassing tales of mythology and zen. Dancer and choreographer Jeanne Perry will lead her troupe in the performance, which will include acrobatic touches.
Those involved with the show say that for only a few dollars more than a movie ticket, audience members get to experience the combined talent of a dozen live artists.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit cancer research and the Magique Bazaar Living Museum, a group dedicated to preserving live magical acts and related arts.
The show is for one night only at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, 17090 Monterey Rd. Doors open at 7:30pm. Info: (408) 244-7469 (BIG-SHOW). Tickets are $15 at the door. Seniors and students are $12 at the door.
