Nearly 20 clergy from the area attended the ceremony. The Rt. Rev. Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves presided and celebrated Holy Communion. The V. Rev. Fr. Getchell, retired dean in San Jose, gave a sermon emphasizing the importance of encouraging more ethnic leaders and teachers in the church.

The Rev. Lawrence Robles lives in San Jose with his wife Carmen and family, and will be serving as an assisting priest at St. Stephen’s. He will be serving as a curate (parish priest in training) for the first few years, after which he will be entering the ranks of parish priests in the Diocese of El Camino Real.
