U9 girls squad moves up age division, but goes undefeated in
weekend Halloween Jamboree
NAPA – The Orchard Valley Storm U9 girls competitive squad headed to Napa this past weekend to play in the U10 Napa Halloween Jamboree – winning all eight games.

The Jamboree was played on small fields in a five-on-five format. The Storm broke into a pair of well-balanced teams to take on the older U10 teams. When the dust settled on Sunday afternoon, the two Storm teams had swept all eight games they played in, all in convincing fashion.

The Storm used their quickness and passing skills to befuddle their older competition. Rebekah Inouye and Colby Carson were a dynamic duo during the weekend, assisting each other on several goals. Tula Urban took advantage of nice pass-backs from teammates to score a pair of goals from deep outside the box. Taylor Slattery, Kaylana Mau and Megan Nebesnick all had great moments in goal and on the field. Hailey Hamilton scored a pair of early goals to get the Storm rolling. Amber Thomas, Sydney Barker and Janessa Garcia played stout defense and contributed several goals on offense.

The Storm’s sweep of the Jamboree was all the more impressive because they played much of it with no subsitute players in the 90-degree Napa heat. Samantha Riolo was out with an ankle injury and Jada Williams was limited due to illness.
