Dear Editor:

I’m also responding to the articles about the drama showcase. I am in drama two and performed in the second period showcase that didn’t have any reporters bashing it.

All anyone ever wrote about the entire showcase was how bad and inappropriate it was. But what about those of us who followed our teacher’s instructions. What’s that? He told us to censor everything? Everyone is so concentrated on blaming Mr. Meeker for what happened, but he told us to censor things and edit as much as we could, but many things that went fine during rehearsal were changed on the spot.

For the letter writer who commented about Mr. Meeker promoting domestic violence, that’s funny. I’m sure he said to himself, “hmmm … self, how can I corrupt high school kids? Let me rewrite the material in these books so they can learn bad habits!”

These are books that we use for scripts. They’re all we have. We don’t have an infinite source of money to buy books or have them written especially for us.

I say if you’re so worried about domestic violence, then come report the Peer Health Presentation we will be having on Feb. 27, in the theatre. We have Peer Health educators (I know because I am one of them) that teach the kids about domestic violence, and sex, and the negative aspects of these subjects.

How about instead of always putting down the high school and printing all of the bad things about it on the front page, you open your eyes to all of the positive things in the school.
