OK, its not really new. Native to the South Pacific, “noni” has been used for its homeopathic healing properties for more than 2000 years. Besides being a basic food staple, it was used for treating ailments ranging from skin infections and arthritis to gastrointestinal/stomach problems. Noni doesn’t have a “season;” it grows all year long and is abundantly available.
The noni fruit is loaded with wide variety of nutrients, including calcium, carotenes, iron, magnesium, potassium, protein among many other beneficial phytonutrients.
Tahitian Noni International is the pioneer and the leader in researching and producing noni juice. Among its purported benefits are:
– increased mental clarity and attention span;
n supporting the immune system’s natural ability to fight disease and infection, due the high levels of anti- oxidants it contains;
– helps rid the body of harmful free radicals
– supports proper digestion and helps you absorb more nutrients;
– helps carry beneficial substances to the skin, thus improving skin and hair;
– increased energy
Many studies have been done to show noni’s benefits. Among them was research by the American Heart Association. This study demonstrated that “after one month, noni juice significantly reduced cholesterol and triglycerides in current smokers with elevated cholesterol levels.”
Smokers were chosen because they tend to have higher cholesterol levels and be at greater risk of heart disease.
Other research has shown that noni juice also has strong antioxidant power, anti-coagulation, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer benefits. Furthermore, it also had been recently discovered that it stimulates serotonin and melatonin, two hormones our bodies produce that are crucial to our feeling of well-being. As such, it also helpful for sleep dysfunction and chronic pain.
Teresa Tapp, renowned fitness expert and creator of the T-Tapp workout said the following about Tahitian Noni juice: “The body is an amazing machine. Understanding how to move it, feed it and support it is the secret to success. I realize that my exercises look deceptively simple, but once you do them you can feel the difference. T-Tapp literally empowers physiological function to become more efficient. That’s why I’m so excited about Noni Juice. It may look and taste like regular fruit juice but once I drink it, I can FEEL the difference. My energy and endurance levels have elevated to a whole new level. I have more energy and vitality than most 17 year olds and I’m turning 50 in three months! I honestly believe that it ‘helps the body help itself’ look and feel better. Thanks Tahitian Noni International, with T-Tapp and Tahitian Noni Juice, I’m turning back time! I’m jazzed about the juice!”
I have seen the benefits of Tahitian Noni Juice first hand. I started taking it about a month ago. Now, anyone who knows me will tell you that they don’t think I need more energy. But that’s exactly what I got. It is not a jittery energy, such that as you would get with caffeine or sugar. It is calming sort of energy. I also wake up (whether it is at 5am or 7am or 8am) and I am truly awake.
One of the most remarkable benefits I have noticed since I have been on “the juice” is in my muscles. As someone who has had extremely tight muscles her whole life (a result of constant muscle engagement from working out all the time), I am finding (as is my massage therapist) that my muscles are, for the first time in as long as I can remember, not full of “knots.”
Noni juice is drunk by the ounce, or as a “shot.” Neil Solomon, a noni expert, recommends starting with four ounces per day – two before your morning meal and two before your evening meal – for the first month. Then, for the next five months, take it down to three shots. Following that, a maintenance schedule of two ounces per day. These are strictly guidelines. It is OK to do more or less, depending on your individual responses.
However, it should be noted that not all noni juices are created equal. The noni fruit itself does not taste all that wonderful, and most noni juices available in stores have that same flavor. In fact, I had a client tell me that she bought noni juice from a store and threw it away after one sip. Tahitian Noni Juice, on the other hand, tastes much better. And unlike many of the other brands, it is not reconstituted powder. It is made directly from the fruit. The juice in each bottle can be directly traced back to the tree from which the fruit came.
