GILROY – Brook Loesch and Lauren Castro scored two runs each, and Nicole Green pitched five strong innings to lead the Sunbirds to an 8-5 victory over the Riptide in Gilroy Little League Girls Majors play Thursday.
Holly Lam struck out eight batters in three innings, while helping herself out at the plate with a home run for the Riptide. Other Riptide batters with strong performances included Adrianna Figone and Sol Mendez-Alvarado each hitting doubles, and Jacklyn Cambria recording a triple.
