Susan A. Alves died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.
Mrs. Alves was born on April 1, 1949. She was an emergency room nurse at Kaiser Hospital, Santa Teresa for 28 years, and most recently had worked for Kaiser in outside services. A caregiver as a professional and especially as a person, she was often called an angel by those whom she touched. Her faith always gave her strength and nothing could limit her spirit for life.
She loved traveling with her husband, family and friends, and she loved all things related to her family. Her favorite places were Hawaii, Carmel, and Lake Tahoe. She was longtime resident of Gilroy and San Jose after marrying at Santa Clara Mission in 1971.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rick Alves of Gilroy; two sons, Chad Alves and Ryan Alves of Gilroy; her beloved brother, Stephen Frazzini and his wife Sheila Huddleston of West Hartford, Conn.; two special nieces, Sarah Frazzini of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Alison Frazzini, a student at Yale University; loving father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dick and Kay Alves of San Jose; brother-in-law, Ron Alves and his wife Sandy; and nephew, Josh of Rohnert Park.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial Mass at 2:30pm Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at Santa Clara Mission Church on the grounds of Santa Clara University.
Her final resting place will be Los Gatos Memorial Park with her beloved mother and father, Bert and Anna Frazzini.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
