According to the GPD, a Honda SUV was headed east on 10th Street when the driver struck the bicyclist. The victim, a 52-year-old Gilroy resident, was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center of San Jose to be treated for “very serious” injuries, according to GPD Sgt. Chad Gallacinao.

The GPD has not released the names of the victim or driver. Gallacinao said the collision is currently under investigation.
