Orosco belts two homers in 21-9 win
GILROY – Kevin Orosco hit three-run home runs in each of his first two at-bats of the Men’s CC League season Monday, leading the Las Animas Sweepers by Malibu Heating & Air Conditioning 21-9 at Gavilan Sports Park.
Mitch Pierce went 4-for-4 and Donie Gooding 4-for-5 as the Sweepers erased a 6-0 second-inning deficit. Joseph Arde scored four Sweeper runs. Gabe Hernandez lashed a two-run home run and Eddie Gomez went 3-for-3 for Malibu Heating.
George Salgado Jr. homered and Will Hill scored twice as the Playaz defeated In The Zone 11-1 at Las Animas Park. Ruben Arevalo went 2-for-3 for In The Zone.
South County Rockery & Building Materials battled to a 16-16 tie with No Soup 4 You. Dave Meacham delivered four hits, J.P. Cornell three for South County Rockery. Angel Pasillas anchored the Soup attack with three hits and three runs scored. Rich Furtado went 3-for-3, while Ralph Ortiz lined two triples for No Soup 4 You.
Ricky Salinas went 4-for-5 and scored five runs to propel the Dirty Dozen past the Desperados 16-7.
Jaime Hernandez went 3-for-3 and Benny Naranjo went 3-for-4 while scoring three runs for the Dozen. Gerald Buckman hit a two-run single in a six-run fifth for the Desperados. Ron Erskine went 3-for-4.
Jesse Nunez went 4-for-4 to pace Countryside Daycare to a 20-5 victory over Victory Outreach. Kris Ferguson and Tim DeCarlo each powered to four hits for Countryside. Johnny Salgado went 2-for-2 with two Victory Outreach RBI.
Extreme Air Poor Boys pushed across nine runs in the top of the final inning to stop Morgan Hill Bible Church 18-9.
Matt Piedmont pulled a two-run triple, Brad Burrows a two-run homer in the Extreme rally. Piedmont went 4-for-4 and Brandon Orlando homered for the winners. Marc Ranser and Robert Paterson each mustered three hits, Stu Kirchick a triple and single for Morgan Hill Bible Church.
