Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk’s free summer concert series wraps up this Friday with Starship featuring Mickey Thomas.
Thomas joined Jefferson Starship as lead vocalist in 1979. The group was renamed Starship and went on to record hits such as “We Built This City,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” and “Sara.” Every Starship album released since 1979 has gone gold, platinum or multi-platinum.
The Beach Boardwalk’s 2006 Free Friday Night Bands on the Beach has featured such bands as Papa Doo Run Run and the Greg Kihn Band.

When: Sept. 1. Access to the seating area begins at 4pm. No blankets or chairs are permitted in the roped-off areas before 4pm.
