A group of male teens spent the night cleaning up garbage they displaced after they were caught in the midst of an apparent prank in an east Morgan Hill neighborhood, police said.
A resident near Thomas Grade and East Dunne avenues called police about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 17 to report that several people in a Nissan were driving up and down the street knocking over garbage cans. A resident on Copper Hill Drive, in the Holiday Lake Estates subdivision, reported seeing the same vehicle and activity moments later, police said.
Police determined that more than 20 garbage cans had been turned over on Dunne Avenue, Jackson Oaks Drive and throughout Holiday Lake Estates.
When police caught up to the Nissan, they found it was occupied by three male juveniles, who confessed to causing the mess. The teens cleaned up the garbage the same night, police said.
