I would like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Gilroy for their strong support of Measure I. Because the citizens of this community have made the education of our children a priority, we will soon be constructing high quality school facilities.
In the very near future, all children will have access to a quality-learning environment.
I would like to give special recognition to all the individuals who worked on the campaign. It was encouraging to see parents, staff and community members so committed and persistent in their efforts to improve our schools. On behalf of Gilroy Unified School District students, parents and staff, THANK YOU!
Now comes the challenge; delivering facilities as outlined in the bond resolution, on time, within our budget and with quality workmanship. I take this responsibility seriously.
Spending bond proceeds wisely will be a priority for everyone involved. We have already begun discussions about how to manage this enormous project in the most efficient and effective way possible. As a first step, within the next 60 days we will appoint a Citizen’s Oversight Committee.
We will continue to work hard to make Gilroy Unified School District a source of pride for Gilroy and a school system where all children will benefit from a quality educational experience.
