“Welcome Home” was theme for The Fur Ball 2012, Humane Society Silicon Valley’s (HSSV) annual black-tie fundraiser that raises critical funds for animals in Silicon Valley. Held on Saturday, April 28, HSSV’s 9th annual event raised over $635,000 in life-saving funds for the 83-year old organization – an increase of 20 percent over 2011’s results!
This year’s Fur Ball was a sold out, elegant affair for 500 guests and their animal companions in a beautiful, homelike environment. HSSV President Carol Novello says the “Welcome Home” theme pays tribute to the passionate belief that everyone, both two and four-legged, should have a home where they are always welcomed, cherished, nurtured, wanted and loved.  “There is no sweeter trip, with more promise and hope, than the one home.”
Guests enjoyed the Jerry Jay Quartet while partaking in wine tasting, “Mutt-inis” at the ever-popular Martini Luge, and scrumptious passed hors d’oeuvres.  The gala affair was hosted by comedian Cash Levy and supported by 70 volunteers. It was sponsored by Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. and Pfizer Animal Health.
