Thomas S. Castle died at home in Morgan Hill on April 30, 2004
after a lengthy illness. He was 81.

A life long resident of Santa Clara County, Mr. Castle moved his family to Morgan Hill in 1959 where he operated A.L. Castle Inc. and Thomas S. Castle Farms.

His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing and he enjoyed piloting his own plane for a number of years.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, a former member of the Lions Club and many other various community organizations over the years.

As an energetic civic leader, he was a member of the Morgan Hill Planning Commission and served multiple terms as City Councilman and Mayor.

He was named Citizen of the Year in 1979.

Mr. Castle was the beloved husband of Jean Castle; the loving father of Nancy Buchanan, Jamie Castle and Michael Castle; the devoted grandfather of Robin Mayer of New Jersey, Stephanie Castle and Christine Castle of Gilroy and Christopher Castle of Capitola; and the great-grandfather to Ashley Margaret Mayer of New Jersey.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2004 at Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill.
