Throwdown in Garlic Town returns

Amateur fighters from across the state will be flocking to
Gilroy Saturday to take part in the the Third Annual Throwdown in
Garlic Town, which will be held at Wheeler Auditorium. A total of
15 fights are scheduled for the card, which is being put on by Left
2 Right Boxing Club trainer Jerry Rodriguez. The show will begin at
3 p.m. , and doors will be opening an hour earlier.

Jacob Hernandez of Left 2 Right will be taking on Roman Morales (San Ardo Boxing Club) in the main event, while Elizabeth Rodriguez (Left 2 Right) will face Brenda Mendoza (Lujan Boxing Club) in the semi-main event. Lorenzo Jaso from Gilroy’s Silver and Black Boxing Club will also be fighting.

Food, T-shirts and raffle tickets will be sold at the event, which will also feature music. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children and those 5-and-under will be admitted free of charge.
