The Christopher High girls varsity track and field team completed a 6-0 Monterey Bay regular season record after victories over Seaside (94-32) and Monte Vista Christian (103-19) on Thursday at Garcia-Elder Sports Complex.

The Cougars harness that mark and use it as motivation as they head into the MBL trials on May 8 and then the finals on May 11. Should CHS place first overall it will earn the girls league title. The Cougars can also grab the championship if they finish ahead of North Monterey County.

However, the Mustangs, who are now set to enter the Tri-County Athletic League postseason tournament Tuesday night against Monterey, rattled off three straight set wins for a 3-1 triumph. More on this match in Tuesday’s print edition of the Dispatch.
