Impressions Home and Garden Tour
The Gilroy Assistance League will hold its seventh annual signature fundraiser, Impressions Home and Garden Tour, featuring country homes of Gilroy May today and Saturday at 10748 Green Valley Drive. Tours will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m., with final check in at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local children’s programs. Participants will enjoy complimentary appetizers and a no-host wine bar, along with a Home and Garden Boutique at the conclusion of the tour. This year the league will showcase three distinctive homes and landscapes, including a French manor, a Santa Barbara style home that’s owner-designed and energy efficient, plus a contemporary country home. Divos and Divas perform ‘On Broadway’
Divos and Divas will perform “On Broadway” Saturday at the La Vigna Event center, Hecker Pass Winery, 4605 Hecker Pass Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. “On Broadway” will feature the talents of Beverly Blount, Carol Harris, Alan Hoshida, Patti Lemon, Sandra Marlowe, Karen McConachie, Paul Myrvold, Don “Elvis” Prieto, Phil Robb, Ted Sanchez and The Martan Mann Trio. A benefit for the GAA, the evening will include a silent and live auction, hors d’oeuvres, wine and a no host bar. Details: (408) 842-6999.
‘Kitchen Witches’ is tasty theater serving

View the hidden gems of east Gilroy
The monthly historic walking tour will explore the architectural gems of Gilroy’s east side on Saturday. Many are beautiful, some are in the process of restoration and a few are waiting to be rescued. Meet at the Gilroy Museum, 195 Fifth St. at 10 a.m. for the tour that will last approximately two hours. Reservations for the free tour are appreciated by calling the Gilroy Museum at 846-0446.
An afternoon of music at the mission
South Valley Symphony, under the direction of Anthony Quartuccio, Jr., will present its final concert this year at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Mission San Juan Bautista. General admission is $35, children and students are $15. Cost includes a reception following the concert in the Mission Gardens. Mother’s Day cards and soapmaking
Children can learn how to create a handmade Mother’s Day card or handmade soap during a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at BookSmart, 80 E. Second St., Morgan Hill. Cost: $5. Mother’s Day in the park
Celebrate moms at Henry W. Coe State Park from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday. Have a hearty breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuits, fried potatoes, and assorted beverages. Mothers Day breakfast at Elks Lodge
Celebrate Mothers Day with a champagne breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Gilroy Elks Lodge, 2765 Hecker Pass Highway. There will be omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns, pancake, fruit and drinks. Cost: $15 for adults and $8 for kids. Open to members, their families and guests. AAUW quilt show and luncheon
The AAUW Quilt Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in a private garden at 727 Fifth St., Gilroy and will feature a wide variety of beautiful handmade quilts. From old-fashioned geometric designs to contemporary fabric art, the colorful quilts will display the talents of local women. The festive spring event will include light gourmet luncheon. Raffle tickets for a special Opportunity Quilt made by Marianne Peoples will be sold. Proceeds benefit local scholarships awarded by the Gilroy Branch of the American Association of University Women.
