Actors perform during dress rehearsals for "Murder on the Mary

It’s a weekend of theater as students from elementary to high
school don their stage makeup and snazzy costumes for three days of
live entertainment.
“Murder on the Mary Dear” shows at 3:30 p.m. today at Ascencion Solorsano Middle School at 7121 Grenache Way. Cost is $5. There will also be performances at 1 p.m. for $6 and at 6:30 p.m. for $10 Saturday. Rucker’s student council will match proceeds raised by today’s performance and donate funds toward tsunami relief in Japan.

Rucker Elementary School will also be donating a percentage of money raised from their performances of “Little Red Riding Hood – REDefined,” which will take place at 6:30 p.m. today, and at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday at 325 Santa Clara Ave. Another round of performances will also take place the following week at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for public performances are $5 at the door for adults and $3 for children.

As for Cinderella, her dream will come true in Gilroy – again, and again and again. At 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, the Gilroy High School Theater Department will present Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” at the GHS Theater at 750 W. 10th St.
