Consecutive RBI singles by Martinez, Ganadin lead Salas Trucking
to victory
GILROY – Salas Trucking climbed back into the Men’s B League pennant chase Tuesday by upsetting Team Talamo Foods 9-8 at Christmas Hill Park.
Arnold Martinez and Alvin Ganadin hit consecutive RBI-singles in bottom of the sixth inning to lift Salas Trucking to a 1-1 mark in the second half. Albert Martinez homered and Carlos Trevino went 3-for-3 for Salas Trucking. Bobby Garcia hit a triple and two singles for 1-1 Team Talamo.
Craig Avila Bail Bonds is 2-0 atop the four-team league after a 10-2 decision over the Good Fellas.
Steve Pacheco carried the Craig Avila offense with a double and two singles. Good Fellas, the first-half C champion, received a game-opening home run from Rob Flores and a sacrifice fly from Ray Rojas.
Handmade Healthcare is 2-0 atop the Women’s B League after an 11-7 victory over Don’s Vending Wednesday at Christmas Hill.
Shelley DeJesus hit a two-run single in the first inning as Handmade took a 4-0 lead. Missy Howe launched a three-run double in the third as Healthcare moved ahead 10-1.
Howe collected four hits, Kathy Van Hoy and Cori Casillas each three hits for 1-1 Don’s Vending.
Williams Dental Lab joined Don’s at 1-1 with a 23-8 win over Dutchman’s Pizza.
Annette Romero and Maureen Hughes each went 5-for-5 for Williams. Valerie Logan went 3-for-3 and Jeanne Ramos scored three runs for Dutchman’s Pizza.
Kay’s Kids clipped Marks Tractor Service 2-0 Wednesday to move to 2-0 atop the Women’s C League at Las Animas Park.
Jerrica Dexter and Vanessa Pena lined RBI-singles for Kay’s Kids. Marie Lucio went 2-for-2 for the winners. Ana Cid-Chrisman garnered two Marks Tractor hits.
Monica Melendrez singled and scored on a Sally Hernandez double in the top of the ninth inning as Goldsmith Seeds upset Chaos 5-4. Sandy Liberatore’s two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning highlighted a three-run rally for Chaos.
Franny Lopez homered in a four-hit effort and Cindy Casillas followed with three doubles in a 31-6 Let’s Do This nod over the Hpnotiqs. Liz Talavera hit a Hpnotiqs grand slam.
Sally Snyder went 3-for-5 and scored five runs to lead the Energizers past M&M’s 23-8. Nicole Lara provided four hits for the Energizers. Cindy Barnes and Missy Hice crunched M&M’s homers.
