Scale, 8.4 grams of methamphetamine discovered in raided
residence
Law enforcement nabbed two Gilroyans for selling methamphetamine after raiding one of their residences, police said.
About 7 a.m. Thursday, police busted into a house on the 7400 block of Rogers Lane, where they found resident Eugene Root, 35, and Angelina Martinez, 30, of the 7700 block of Murray Avenue, police said. Police also found 8.4 grams of methamphetamine in small bags, a digital scale, money and narcotics packaging products.
Rott and Martinez were also under the influence of methamphetamine when law enforcement entered their residence, police said. They were charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance for sale and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Martinez – who used a relative’s personal information to get a credit card – was also charged with identity theft and elder abuse, police said.
The raid was the latest chapter in a joint ongoing criminal investigation by Gilroy Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team and the state’s United Narcotic Enforcement Team.
