Two Gilroy students are among 152 students from the region who received $1,000 scholarships from Ronald McDonald House Charities Bay Area. RMHCBA will honor the students at a special scholarship event at 6 p.m. May 19, at the South San Francisco Conference Center.

“We are very proud of our local winners, Jasmine Butler and Geralyn Moon,” said Steve Peat, owner of three McDonald’s in Gilroy.

RMHCBA scholarships are awarded to students who display educational excellence and outstanding community involvement. Now in its ninth year, the RMHCBA Scholarship Program has awarded more than $1.25 million in scholarships to Bay Area students.
