Following multiple investigations prompted by tips from the community, Gilroy Police recently arrested two local residents accused of trafficking illegal drugs, authorities said.
Gilroy PD said Feb. 24 that investigators received a tip regarding a man suspected of trafficking narcotics from a home on the 7700 block of Chestnut Street. The man, identified as 26-year-old Jose Cuellar, was suspected of selling narcotics in Gilroy, Morgan Hill and San Benito County.
Gilroy police, with the help of the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant at the home Jan. 30, Gilroy Police said. During the search, police seized about 1.5 pounds of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Cuellar was arrested without incident, police said.
In a separate investigation, investigators received a tip earlier this year about a Gilroy woman who was selling narcotics, police said. Officers investigated for about a month, and obtained a warrant to search a home on the 700 block of Carla Way.
Gilroy Police detectives and members of the Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team served the warrant Feb. 8. During the search, Leticia Zabala, 37, was arrested on suspicion of sales of narcotics and a probation violation, police said.
“This great work is made possible by community members who call in and report suspicious activity,” Gilroy Police said in a Feb. 24 social media post.
Have you heard that MARIJUANA IS A GATEWAY DRUG? Maybe the Dispatch should not be promoting it.

I get paid over $130 1 to 3 hours working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I’d be able to do it but my best friend earns over $27k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless.
