Last night, two shootings about a mile apart occurred on the 7000 block of Church Street and in the area of Old Gilroy and East streets.
About 7:20 p.m. several shots were fired from a vehicle into a residence on Church Street. Several people were inside the residence at the time of the shooting but none were injured or even struck by bullets, police said. The case is under investigation and appears to be gang related, police said. They were unable to release any suspect or vehicle descriptions.
Later last night, about 11:40 p.m. near Old Gilroy and East streets, a vehicle with three or four occupants pulled up to another vehicle and fired multiple rounds, striking the vehicle but none of the five occupants, police said. They do not know whether or not this second shooting is gang related. Again, they were unable to release any suspect or vehicle descriptions.
It is unknown if the two shootings are related, police said.
