A concerned resident saw two Hispanic male teens running from a home on Snowberry Court carrying property and called police. The end result, the 16- and 15-year-old were arrested on suspicion of burglary, and the younger teen was also arrested in connection with a February gang-related robbery near IOOF Avenue and Monterey Road.
After officers detained the two Gilroy residents about 10:25 a.m. Thursday, they were positively identified. Officers located the stolen personal property that included checks.
“This is another outstanding example of the community working in partnership with the police department to combat crime,” Sgt. Jim Gillio said. “This citizen is to be commended.”
